The Applied Biosystems 7300 Real Time PCR is a reliable tool combining thermal cycling with fluorescence detection for the measurement of nucleic acid sequences. Operating on its own software platform, this small yet robust PCR yields quantitative results immediately after completing a run. The great advantage of this real-time PCR is that there is no need to purify PCR or implement post-PCR alterations. It can complete a real-time PCR run in less than two hours, supporting a volume range of 20-100µl. The ABI 7300 offers the ability to run multiple applications including SNP genotyping, pathogen quantification, isothermal, gene expression analysis, plus/minus assays with internal positive controls. The thermal cycling system is Peltier-based with a peak block ramp rate of 1.6°C/sec, and the optical system includes a single excitation, four emission filters, and a CCD camera. The machine includes calibrated dyes and passive reference dyes, supporting standard optical 96 well plates and 0.2ml tubes.
