The GE Frac-950 is an automated fraction collector for use with AKTA design chromatography systems running Unicorn software. Equipped with an accumulator, the Frac-950 eliminates spillage at high flows. Up to 392 fractions can be collected at once for time or volume base, fixed volume and/or peak fractionation, fixed capillary tip with moving rack, fixed rack with moving capillary tip, or fractionation order (row-by-row, column-by-column, serpentine-row, serpentine-column). Flexible fraction collection from 96-well microplates plates to 250mL bottles or funnels connected to any vessel, fixed volume fractionation or automatic peak fractionation is possible, 0.001-100mL/min flow rate. A fraction collector can be used for both small scale and preparative scale purifications with KTAexplorer. The GE AKTA Frac-950 Fraction Collector allows fixed volume fractionation, eluate fractionation or automatic peak fractionation. The latter function is based on peak detection using slope sensing. Drop synchronization eliminates sample loss during tube change. The collector facilitates the collection of up to 392 fractions, time or volume base, fixed volume and/or peak fractionation, fixed capillary tip, moving rack (standard mode), fixed rack, moving capillary tip (prep mode).
