Description
The Thermo Scientific LTQ Orbitrap XL & LTQ XL with ETD is a versatile mass spectrometer renowned for its high sensitivity and resolution. Manufactured in Germany, this preowned unit is in fair condition and requires calibration and validation for optimal performance. It has minor cosmetic defects and was unable to be fully tested due to the absence of required control software. Ideal for complex protein and small molecule analysis, it has visible scratches and scuff marks indicating prior use. The unit powers on, but the main power switch shut off unexpectedly during pump initialization. The equipment does not include a computer or power/data cables.
Technician comment
The thermo LTQ XL powers on successfully( front end powers on, need adaptor to power on orbitrap and ETD). The system was connected to the required vacuum pumps and powered on for testing. During initialization, the main power switch shut off unexpectedly when the pumps were engaged. The unit was not further tested beyond this point. Full performance testing could not be completed due to the absence of required control software. The instrument is preowned. Has visual scratches and scuff marks on exterior housing and rusty table, general signs of prior use. Full operational functionality has not been verified. Calibration and validation will be required prior to use to ensure optimal performance and analytical accuracy. See photos for further details.
