Microm HM 500 OM is a highly efficient microtome-cryostat designed for a cutting temperature range down to -40C. Although being sold AS-IS, this upright standing unit offers convenient and ergonomic handling in standing and sitting positions. The instrument features a cooling system to control the temperature of the microtome and knife carrier, and to cool the freezing stations for freezing-on specimens, along with a second cooling system for fast specimen cooling. Additionally, the microtome has a motorized coarse feed system, retracting specimen protection, and three available knife carriers. With a section thickness range from 0.5m to 90m, the instrument has rustproof construction and is equipped with a section counter, motorized cutting drive with three modes of operation, and emergency-stop device.
