The Ion Torrent Life Technologies 508-U001 Personal Genome Machine PGM DNA Sequencer is the predecessor to the Ion Torrent 7467. This particular machine is sold for parts only and has high valuable internal components. It has been tested for basic functionality and has a touchscreen user interface and an external computer - the Torrent Server. This DNA sequencer is designed for small sets of genes and is capable of producing 1 Gb of data in as little as 90 minutes per run. With a freestanding weight of 65 lbs and dimensions of 24 in (W) x 20 in (D) x 21 in (H), it provides high throughput compatibility and an incredible level of instrument memory with 48 GB RAM and eight 2 TB hard drives in RAID 5. The system is optimized for high throughput-compatible with a read length of 35400 bases and a throughput of up to 2 Gb per run. The Ion Torrent PGM also has an extensive range of compatible chips, an average accuracy rate of >99%, and has a voltage limit of 100V (min) to 240V (max).
