A traditional Thermal Cycler built on the old MJ Research platform, the Bio Rad PTC-200 is known for its flexible design, allowing the use of different alpha blocks configured for various microplates, tubes, and slides. The system includes a built-in gradient feature exclusively for 96-well blocks, along with protocols for ramping, cooling, and additional memory banks for user-defined PCR runs. The temperature range of 0 to 100°C with a ramp rate of 3°C per second ensures excellent temperature uniformity for repeatable applications. The built-in microprocessor, push-button controls, and easy-to-read LCD panel make this system user-friendly. Manufacture specifications include thermal accuracy of 0.3°C at 90°C and ramping speed of up to 3°C/sec for most Alpha units. The DNA Engine cycler operates at a line voltage of 100-240 VAC rms.
