The Stratagene UV Stratalinker 2400 Ultraviolet Crosslinker provides a benchtop method of crosslinking DNA or RNA to nylon, nitrocellulose, or nylon-reinforced nitrocellulose membranes. Crosslinking increases hybridization signals significantly higher than when oven baking is used. The internal photodetector compensates for aging ultraviolet bulbs to keep the power output consistent. This equipment cuts the traditional processing time for baking filters at 80C down from 2 hours to 2550 seconds, boosting productivity. It can be used for Northern, Southern, dot or slot blot analysis, colony or plaque screening, and nicking of DNA in agarose gels before blotting.
