The Countess II Automated Cell Counter AMQAX1000 by Invitrogen is a benchtop assay platform that utilizes state-of-the-art optics, full autofocus, and image analysis software for rapid assessment of cells in suspension. With the ability to count cells, monitor fluorescent protein expression, evaluate apoptosis, and measure cell viability, this cell counter offers accurate and fast results. The unit combines flexibility with convenience and eliminates the subjectivity of manual cell counting, providing a capacitive touchscreen and simple user interface for quick startup and minimal training. The system is also capable of accepting up to two EVOS light cubes selectable from over twenty fluorescence channels, hence providing great flexibility to researchers. No light cube is included. The device is especially useful for counting live/dead cells, assessing apoptosis, and monitoring cell viability. Countess II offers unique features with a display interface of 7' capacitive touch. The device is extremely user-friendly and does not require any cleaning or maintenance. Furthermore, the system is able to accept a 2-chamber disposable or 2-chamber reusable slide, has a detection method of brightfield and 2 user-definable FL channels, and has a detection capacity of 1x10^4-1x10^7 cellsmL.
