The Biomek FX is available as a single- or dual-pod unit and is versatile to perform a variety of functions, both sequentially or simultaneously. With various labware and hardware adapt, the system is capable of performing simple positioning and liquid transfers, to complex lab activities. The Beckman Coulter Biomek FX instrument has robotic arms (Span-8 and 96-Multichannel Head), which can handle volumes from 1 to 1000ul on Span-8 and a max of 200ul on the 96-channel arm.
