The Shimadzu SPD-10A UV/Vis Detector is routinely used in analytical chemistry for the quantitative determination of transition metal ions, highly conjugated organic compounds, and biological macromolecules. It is commonly used in solutions but can also study solids and gases. The wavelength scanning function performs scanning with the flow stopped. Manufactured by Shimadzu, the SPD-10A VP features a deuterium lamp light source, a wavelength range of 190-600 nm, a spectral bandwidth of 8 nm, and a cell volume of 8uL. The wavelength accuracy is +/- 1 nm, and the cell pressure tolerance is 12MPa. It allows measuring two wavelengths in the range of 190-370 nm or 371-600 nm and offers a response time selectable in 9 steps. The range can be set between 0.0001 and 2.56 AUFS in 0.0001 AUFS steps.
