The Pharmacia Biotech Multiphor II Electrophoresis System, Model 18-1018-06, is designed for horizontal electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing, 2-D electrophoresis, and electrophoretic transfer. This used unit, in good condition, has been tested to the best extent possible and powers on with no known functionality issues, despite some cosmetic blemishes typical of regular use. It's configured to handle ultrathin gels on various supports, facilitating electrophoretic transfer of proteins. The system accommodates differing gel sizes and various buffer strips without significant buffer volume requirements. Capable of efficient and uniform cooling through a ceramic cooling plate, it enhances high voltage resolution. The user can select from a broad array of precast gels or create specialized gels with adjustable electrodes accommodating different gel sizes. It primarily suits applications involving polyacrylamide or agarose gels and offers configurations for both 1-D and 2-D electrophoresis.
