1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how REUZEit, Inc., REUZEit BV, and REUZEit UK and Ireland, Ltd. (collectively, "REUZEit," "we," "us," or "our") use cookies and similar technologies on our website at reuzeit.com.
This policy supplements our Global Privacy Notice. Read together, they explain what information we collect through our website, how we handle it, and the choices available to you.
2. Our Approach to Cookies
We use cookies for a defined set of purposes that fall into the categories described in Section 4. As of the Last Updated date at the top of this policy, only strictly necessary cookies are active on our website. Other categories listed below — functional, analytics, and marketing — are described so that you understand the framework we apply, but they are not currently deployed.
We may activate additional cookie categories in the future. When we do:
- We will update this policy to describe the specific cookies, providers, and durations.
- For categories that require it (functional, analytics, marketing), we will obtain your consent through our cookie consent banner before any such cookie is set on your device, in accordance with EU and UK ePrivacy law.
- For users in U.S. states where opt-out applies (rather than opt-in), we will provide opt-out controls and honor recognized signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
You can always check the current state of cookies in use by reviewing the table in Section 4 and the version number at the top of this policy.
3. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function, to remember your actions and preferences, and to provide information to site operators.
Similar technologies — including local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — work in comparable ways. References to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies where relevant.
Cookies can be classified by:
- Duration:
- Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
- Origin:
- First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting (in our case, REUZEit).
- Third-party cookies are set by other domains, such as analytics or advertising providers.
4. Cookie Categories
We apply the following four-category framework. Each category indicates whether it is currently in use.
4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies — Active
These cookies are essential for the website to function and to deliver services you have explicitly requested, such as submitting a contact form or maintaining a secure session. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under EU/UK ePrivacy law.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session ID | reuzeit.com | Maintains your session as you navigate the website | First-party, strictly necessary | Session |
| CSRF token | reuzeit.com | Security cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery on forms | First-party, strictly necessary | Session |
| Cookie consent record | reuzeit.com | Records your cookie preferences so we don't ask on every page | First-party, strictly necessary | 12 months |
| Load-balancer cookie | reuzeit.com / hosting provider | Routes your requests to the correct web server | First-party, strictly necessary | Session |
| Bot management / security | Content-delivery-network provider | Distinguishes legitimate visitors from automated traffic and protects the site from abuse | Third-party, strictly necessary | Up to 30 days |
Cookie names and exact durations may change as our infrastructure is updated. The categories and purposes above accurately reflect our current use.
4.2 Functional Cookies — Not Currently in Use
Functional cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering language preferences, region selection, or video player settings. If we deploy these in the future, they will be set only with your consent in the EU, EEA, and UK and described in detail in this section.
Specific cookies: To be determined.
4.3 Analytics / Performance Cookies — Not Currently in Use
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously or in aggregate (e.g., pages visited, time on site, referral sources). They help us improve site performance and content.
If we deploy analytics in the future:
- We will set them only with your consent in the EU, EEA, and UK.
- For U.S. visitors, we will provide an opt-out mechanism and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
- We will update this section with the specific tools, providers, data shared, and retention periods.
- The provider will be bound by a data processing agreement, and any international transfers will be covered by the safeguards described in our Global Privacy Notice.
Specific cookies: To be determined.
4.4 Marketing / Advertising Cookies — Not Currently in Use
Marketing cookies are used to deliver advertising relevant to you and your interests, to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, and to retarget visitors across other websites. They are typically set by third-party advertising networks.
If we deploy marketing cookies in the future:
- We will set them only with your prior, explicit consent in the EU, EEA, and UK.
- For U.S. visitors in states recognizing the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" / targeted advertising, we will provide opt-out controls and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
- We will update our Global Privacy Notice (Section 5 — Who We Share Your Data With, and the U.S. State Privacy Rights Addendum) to disclose the relevant categories of recipients and any "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We will update this section with the specific cookies, providers, data shared, and retention periods.
Specific cookies: To be determined.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Currently, the only third-party cookies on our website are operational cookies set by our infrastructure providers (for example, security or content-delivery-network cookies listed in Section 4.1).
If we activate functional, analytics, or marketing categories in the future, additional third-party cookies may be introduced. They will be disclosed in the corresponding section above and subject to the consent framework described in Section 2.
6. How to Manage Cookies
6.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When non-essential cookie categories become active on our website, you will see a cookie consent banner on your first visit (and when revisiting after clearing cookies). The banner will allow you to:
- Accept all cookies
- Reject all non-essential cookies
- Customize your preferences by category
You will be able to change your preferences at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in our website footer. Your preferences will be recorded for 12 months, after which we will ask again.
Until non-essential cookie categories are activated, the banner is informational and does not gate site functionality, since strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
6.2 Browser Controls
You can also control or block cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will likely prevent parts of our website from working correctly.
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies (or Cookies and other site data)
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data
For mobile devices, please consult the support documentation for your browser or operating system.
7. Universal Opt-Out Signals (Global Privacy Control)
Our website respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law (including in California, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas). When non-essential cookie categories are active, a GPC signal will be treated as an opt-out of:
- The "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; and
- Targeted advertising and certain types of profiling.
While we currently do not engage in those activities, we already log receipt of GPC signals as part of our compliance practice.
8. Do Not Track
Our website does not currently respond to traditional Do Not Track ("DNT") browser signals because there is no agreed industry standard for how websites should interpret them. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals as described in Section 7.
9. Personal Data Collected via Cookies
The cookies described in Section 4.1 (strictly necessary) process limited personal data, including your IP address (for security and load-balancing) and a session identifier. This data is processed under the lawful bases described in our Global Privacy Notice:
- Performance of a contract or legitimate interests for operational cookies; and
- Legal obligation for security-related logs where required.
If functional, analytics, or marketing cookies are activated in the future, the additional personal data they collect will be processed on the basis of your consent (for EU/UK users) or under another lawful basis where applicable. You will be able to withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in our footer.
Your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and U.S. state privacy laws — including the rights to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing — are described in the Global Privacy Notice and apply to information processed via cookies.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, particularly when we activate new cookie categories or change providers. The "Last Updated" date and "Version" number at the top indicate when it was last revised.
Material changes — including the activation of functional, analytics, or marketing cookies — will be communicated through a refreshed cookie consent banner that asks you to review and confirm your preferences.
A history of prior versions is available on request.
