Description
The Binder ED 53-UL is a 53-liter gravity-convection drying and heating oven, ideal for laboratory applications. Manufactured in Germany, this unit is sold AS-IS due to its inability to regulate temperature properly. When set to 40°C, the oven overheats and shuts off automatically, making it a valuable parts donor or repair candidate for those with technical expertise. The oven features a temperature range from approximately 5°C above ambient to 300°C, with interior dimensions of 15.8"W × 13.0"D × 15.8"H and exterior dimensions of approximately 25.0"W × 22.6"D × 24.4"H. It supports natural/gravity convection and has a power consumption of 1.20 kW at 115 V, 60 Hz. Despite minor cosmetic scratches on the left side, the unit includes one power cord and has a maximum load capacity of 40 kg. This oven is suitable for those seeking parts or a project for repair.
Technician comment
Unit powers on but does not regulate temperature properly. Set to 40°C, but temperature continued to rise to reached high temperature and the unit shut off automatically due to overheating. After cooling down, the unit powered back on and repeated the same issue. Has minor cosmetic scratches on left side. See photos
