Description
The PIKO Thermal Cycler Type 5000 is a compact and efficient PCR system inspired by the Italian word 'piccolo', meaning tiny. Manufactured by Finnzymes, this thermal cycler is designed to deliver exceptional thermal uniformity, accuracy, and rapid ramp rates, allowing PCR protocols to be completed in as little as 10 minutes. It features a motorized heated lid with automatic pressure setting and a CD drive-like loading mechanism for plates and tubes. The unit is in very good condition, with light-to-moderate cosmetic wear from prior use, and has passed basic functional tests at intake. It operates on 120V and supports a thermal range from 4°C to 99.9°C. The cycler includes a backlit LCD display, Ethernet and Serial communication ports, and a memory capacity of 40 folders with 99 programs each. This system is licensed for PCR and is half the size of the smallest thermal cyclers available.
