The PIKO Thermal Cycler Type 5000 by Finnzymes, inspired by the word 'tiny' from the Italian 'piccolo', is a compact and efficient PCR system. Crafted in the United States, this equipment is renowned for its industry-leading thermal uniformity, accuracy, rapid ramp rates, and brief settling times, all thanks to its unique heat pump. The compact design makes it half the size of standard thermal cyclers but delivers reliable results, executing PCR protocols in just 10 minutes with consistent performance across wells and instruments. Key features include an automatic pressure-setting motorized heated lid and a user-friendly CD drive-like loading system for plates and tubes. Engineered with a 24-well block format, the cycler incorporates a backlit LCD display and memory for 40 folders with 99 programs each, enabling versatile programming. It features excellent thermal performance with a max ramp rate of >8C/s, thermal uniformity of +/-0.3C, and accuracy of +/-0.2C across a range of 4C to 99.9C.
