The Argos Technologies Nova Microcinerator Model S3011 is an advanced device designed for the safe and efficient sterilization of metal inoculating loops and needles. Unlike traditional methods, it eliminates the need for an open flame, thus reducing the risk of aerosoling microorganisms and exposure to dangerous gases, flames, and splatter. The microcinerator uses infrared heat within a sturdy ceramic tube and reaches an optimum sterilization temperature of 815°C (1500°F) to effectively sterilize loops or needles within 5-7 seconds. Its adjustable positions (five settings from -8° to +32°) and ergonomic design minimize hand fatigue, making it a convenient tool in any laboratory setting. In addition, the generated heat can be used for drying slides and other thick fluids without morphologically distorting them, and it supports effective epithelium dissolution using the KOH mycology technique.
