Description
The Shimadzu MALDI-8020 is a benchtop linear MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer designed for high-speed, high-accuracy applications. Despite being in fair condition with some cosmetic defects and inability to reach optimum vacuum status, this system offers significant potential for peptide, protein, and polymer characterization. Featuring a 200 Hz solid-state laser and a compact design, the MALDI-8020 enhances laboratory efficiency with its rapid sample introduction and widebore ion optics for superior sensitivity and resolution. The unit includes optics cleaning technologies and quiet operation. Software CDs/Files and a user manual are included, but computer is not included.
Technician comment
Startup initially ok, turbo gets to full speed, 1500 Hz. Source vac gets to full green (operating vacuum). Analyzer vacuum does not reach optimum e-6 mbar ready status. After approx 90 minutes it had vac error and shut down. The fore vac pump may need rebuild / replace. 307302000 laser shots.
