Description
Released in 2019, the Shimadzu MALDI-8020 is a benchtop linear MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer designed for a variety of applications, including peptide, protein, and polymer characterization. The unit is in fair condition, with a possible minor issue preventing it from fully operating. Despite this, it features a compact design with a 200 Hz solid-state laser for rapid data acquisition and high-end features like WideBore ion optics for enhanced sensitivity and resolution. Key technologies include TrueClean automated ion optics cleaning and EasyCare tuning. Ideal for labs aiming to introduce MS imaging capabilities. Computer is not included.
Technician comment
Vacuum system starts does not have a PC. We used another system PC to test. Source vacuum only pumped to about 50% vacuum. Turbo pump did get to 1500Hz speed (normal) but analyzer vacuum did not achieve operation status <5.0 e-6mbar. 307302000 laser shots.
