Despite minor operational issues such as a vacuum system that only pumped to about 50% and lacking a computer, this unit is highly versatile for applications ranging from peptide and protein analysis to polymer characterization. The system features a compact design with advanced imaging capabilities through its 200 Hz solid-state laser, rapid-moving sample stage, and fast sample data acquisition, making it an efficient addition to high-throughput environments. Although the vacuum system displayed incomplete functionality during testing, the 200 Hz laser and proprietary ion optics technologies like WideBore and TrueClean enhance sensitivity and resolution, facilitating the detailed molecular analysis necessary for research applications.
Technician comment
Vacuum system starts does not have a PC. We used another system PC to test. Source vacuum only pumped to about 50% vacuum. Turbo pump did get to 1500Hz speed (normal) but analyzer vacuum did not achieve operation status <5.0 e-6mbar. 307302000 laser shots.
